QCN – Do No Harm: Using trauma-informed AI tools in AI-enabled services

As AI becomes more embedded in service delivery, poorly designed or governed systems can unintentionally cause harm or retraumatisation. To support organisations to identify and address these risks, ARC Centre of Excellence for Automated Decision-Making and Society has developed the Trauma-Informed AI Assessment Toolkit (TIAKIT) – a FREELY available practical resource that helps organisations reflect on how AI and algorithmic tools impact people with lived experience of trauma.
Our February QCN meeting will be an opportunity engage in an interactive session to:
- learn the trauma-informed principles underpinning TIAKIT
- explore how AI systems can shape service-user experiences
- see live demonstrations of TIAKIT in action
- apply toolkit prompts to their own service context
Participants will also hear about opportunities to pilot TIAKIT, access implementation support, contribute feedback, and engage in ongoing research.
