PeakCare acknowledges Minister Camm’s contribution to Queensland children and families
PeakCare Queensland acknowledges Minister Amanda Camm’s longstanding commitment to Queensland’s child and family sector, particularly during a period of significant reform. Minister Camm has demonstrated a sustained commitment to the Child Safety portfolio for almost six years, serving as Shadow Minister from 2020 before taking on the ministerial role in 2024.
We have particularly valued Minister Camm’s regular and genuine engagement with PeakCare and our members, her willingness to listen to the experiences of frontline organisations, and her commitment to working collaboratively with the sector.
We respect her decision to prioritise her health and wellbeing and wish her all the best in her recovery.
The Child Protection Commission of Inquiry has created an important opportunity for lasting reform. Maintaining momentum will require sustained investment, genuine sector collaboration and a clear focus on implementation, particularly in prevention and early intervention, workforce capability and safe, stable care for children and young people.
PeakCare looks forward to working constructively with the incoming Minister and the Queensland Government to ensure these reforms deliver meaningful, measurable improvements for Queensland’s children, young people and families.
