What Lies Beneath…the Words is a short film produced by PeakCare in 2016. Inspired by the classic suspense thriller, What Lies Beneath starring Michelle Pfeiffer and Harrison Ford, this film delves into the scary things that often lie beneath the words that children and young people encounter, day in and day out, whilst living in care.
In 2019, we invite you to go behind closed doors – if you dare – to watch CREATE Young Consultants, Brooke, Ty and Miriel, plus Karen and Rachelle from the Queensland Child Safety Department plus Nadia and Lenny from the Queensland Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Child Protection Peak as they watch this frighteningly awesome film. Both What Lies Beneath the Words – the Sequel andWhat Lies Beneath the Words – the Original can be viewed free-of-charge on Vimeo by PeakCare Members and registered Supporters. All you have to do is email the name of your organisation (or your own name in the case of Supporters) to Annika Stehn (astehn@peakcare.org.au) and ask to receive the link and password you will need to enter to watch the films.
Members and Supporters may also purchase copies of either or both videos on USB. A small fee of $5 (incl. GST) for each video will be charged to cover the cost of the USB and postage or you can pay $7 (incl. GST) to receive a copy of both videos. Non-Members will be charged a fee of $7 for either video or $10 for both.
