Each week, PeakCare publishes a ‘Thumbs Up’ and/or a ‘Thumbs Down’ about matters that have come to our attention and draw either our commendation or condemnation. If there are matters that you think are worthy of one or other of these acknowledgements, email lwegener@peakcare.org.au and we will consider publishing them.
A massive THUMBS UP and PeakCare’s warmest congratulations are sent to Natalie Lewis on her appointment to the position of Commissioner at the Queensland Family and Child Commission. Natalie is a proud Gamilaraay woman and a highly regarded and well-respected leader who has served as a member of the SNAICC national executive, as a co-chair of the national Family Matters Board, and as a member of the Council of Australian Government’s Joint Council on Closing the Gap, the Australian Child Rights Task Force and the Queensland First Children and Families Board. For most of us, she is best known for the role she has played as the CEO of the Queensland Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Child Protection Peak over the past several years. Our best wishes are sent to Natalie as she takes up this next chapter in her career on 1st June 2020.
