Queensland Youth Week 2020

Queensland Youth Week (QYW) is an annual celebration of young people 12-25 years old and the positive contributions they make to Queensland communities. Preparations for Queensland Youth Week 2020 are underway, with an exciting opportunity for a young person with artistic flair, or who may be studying creative arts, to submit their artwork and designs for QYW promotion. The theme for QYW20 is ‘Yeah the youth!’, which is a call to friendship, strength and unity between young people. Designs must conform to the design brief and terms and conditions. The winning entry will be featured across all promotional materials with winners to also receive a $500 VISA card, a creative pen tablet (Wacom Intuos Pro Medium with Pro Pen 2 valued at $399), and a gimbal (DJI Osmo 3 valued at $159). Two runners-up will each receive a $100 JB Hi-Fi voucher. Young people with an out-of-home care experience, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young people, and young people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds are especially encouraged to apply.

Community grants up to $2,000 are available for local councils, not-for-profits, and parents and citizen groups to hold events and activities celebrating QYW20. To be eligible, events and activities must include young people in the design and delivery of the event, deliver meaningful outcomes, align with objectives of the Queensland Youth Strategy, and raise awareness of the contributions of young people to Queensland’s social, economic and cultural life. Find out more and apply. Applications close Sunday, 15th December.
