It was a night full of brightness and occasional elegance. A Welcome to Country by Tommy from Yuggera and rousing speeches by the Honourable Leanne Linard MP, Minister for Children and Youth Justice and Minister for Multicultural Affairs, PeakCare’s Board President, Janet Wight and Executive Director, Lindsay Wegener set the scene for introducing to the stage, PeakCare’s newest best friend, Jenny Wynter. Ably assisted by PeakCare’s Tom Allsop (aka Mike Stand), Jenny delivered a spell-binding performance with her singing and comedy mixed with moments of poignant tenderness.
PeakCare warmly congratulates all who received Awards and Special Commendations on this brilliant night of nights. Our congratulations are also extended to all who were nominated for an award. Thank you to all who joined in the festivities and helped make this a moving celebration of Queensland’s child protection sector.
