New project for parents funded by Department of Education and delivered by CRU

Community Resource Unit Ltd (CRU) has recently launched a new project, Families for Inclusive Education, which has received funding from Queensland’s Department of Education (DoE) to build the knowledge and capacity of parents of students with disability. The project aims to support families to be clear, informed, confident and connected so that they can work as respected and valued partners with their child’s school. As part of the project, CRU will: deliver two complementary workshops in each of 15 locations across Queensland; develop and disseminate resources; host webinars; foster peer support networks and offer training to peer leaders; and provide information and individual consultations to families and others who support the education of students with disability. DoE has also offered financial support for families who live regionally to attend a workshop at a close or convenient location. To apply for the financial support, contact CRU.
