Hope and Healing for foster care – thank you

PeakCare would like to express our deepest appreciation to all the foster carers and agency staff who attended our first consultation workshop held in December. The knowledge, experience and passion that was shared with us, has again highlighted the importance of this project in creating trauma informed, therapeutic training specifically for foster carers. Due to the successful rollout of the Hope and Healing training for residential care workers, PeakCare has received funding to adapt the trauma informed therapeutic practice framework and develop a training program for Queensland foster carers and their support workers. Further consultation workshops will be starting in February 2021 where we will be travelling to other regions to ensure that we are able to hear the voices of as many foster carers, support workers and agency staff in what we know is an extremely rewarding but challenging role. Post workshop reports will be provided to all our participants and other stakeholders throughout our consultation process and we will also be in touch mid 2021 for testing and feedback of the modules as they are developed.
