The Institute of Child Protection Studies (ICPS) has released research into the risk factors for family conflict and breakdown that may lead to young people experiencing homelessness, as well as protective factors. The research found acute and chronic characterisations of family conflict, both common to families with young people at risk of homelessness. Participants experienced reaching a ‘tipping point’ at which homelessness became a more attractive living option than family dysfunction and conflict. Read more in the ICPS research update.
