Engaging pregnant and parenting young people

The Australian Young Pregnant & Parenting Network Symposium will be held Thursday, 8th to Friday, 9th August in Maroochydore, Queensland. Di Farmer, Queensland State Minister for Child Safety, Youth & Women will open the symposium, with headline speaker, Megan Mitchell, National Children’s Commissioner. Keynote speakers include Professor Ian Hay, Macquarie University; Dr Angelique Howell and Dr Deb Lynch, University of Queensland; and Tiara Ruua and Joanne Furminger, Institute of Urban Indigenous Health. Breakout panels will include young parents – graduates from STEMM like Emily and Amanda – will tell us what worked for them, and school principals and policymakers will tell us what can be done.
