ARACY 2019 policy priorities announced

The Australian Research Alliance for Children and Youth (ARACY) has launched Our Children: They don’t vote but they do matter developed in anticipation of the federal general election. The guide sets out a range of recommendations for the next Australian Government based on research of need and evidence of what works to prevent problems and improve the wellbeing of young Australians, including: appointing a Cabinet level minister with overarching responsibility for the wellbeing of Australia’s children; developing a National Action Plan for the wellbeing of all Australian children; shaping investments in kids and families based on research and evidence; and a national survey of parents. ARACY will be delivering a special federal election webinar series discussing policy priorities ahead of the election due in May. Upcoming webinars will feature guest speakers discussing their organisation’s policy priorities for the incoming government, including Playgroup Australia CEO Fiona May, SNAICC Chair Muriel Bamblett AO, Consumers Health Forum of Australia CEO Leanne Wells, and more. Register for any of these free webinars online.
