On 24th October 2016, over 100 representatives of non-government providers of foster, kinship care and residential care services from across the State, senior officers of the Department of Communities, Child Safety and Disability Services and other stakeholders attended the Charting a Better Journey for Children and Young People in Care workshop. This week, PeakCare was pleased to post to nominated ‘contact persons’ within each of our Member agencies a digital recording of some commentary about the workshop provided by PeakCare’s Executive Director, Lindsay Wegener and the reflections of several of the workshop participants filmed during the course of the day. The speakers included in the video include Greg Upkett (Indigenous Family and Child Support Service), Matthew Looker (Act for Kids), Jean Griffin (Kyabra Community Association), Laurel Downey (Catalyst Child and Family Services), Lucas Moore (CREATE Foundation), Rachelle Ogden (Anglicare Central Queensland), Rosemary Jenkinson (Department of Communities, Child Safety and Disability Services), Sarah Crouch (Foundations Care), Vicki White (Department of Communities, Child Safety and Disability Services) and Brad Swan (Life Without Barriers).
Queries about the identity of the contact persons to whom the video was sent or about placing orders for additional copies may be directed to Gary Roberts.
