Carol Ronken

Appointed in 2003, Carol Ronken is responsible for leading the program of research at Bravehearts. Carol is passionate about ensuring Bravehearts is actively involved in research, policy and legislative development that aims to prevent, respond to, and reduce the incidence of child sexual abuse and exploitation. Ensuring children are protected from sexual abuse and creating safer communities drives her work.

Carol is a member of several working groups, including the Australian Centre to Counter Child Exploitation Research Working Group, the Australian Child Rights Taskforce, and the Stopping Gender Violence Advisory Board, QUT Centre for Justice . Her professional memberships include the Australian and New Zealand Society of Criminology and the International Society for the Prevention of Child Abuse and Neglect. Carol is also a Visiting Fellow in the Centre for Justice at Queensland University of Technology.
