This week, Queensland’s focus has been placed on two matters – poverty and the housing crisis – both of which are wreaking havoc across our State. Often interlinked, both are major drivers of children, young people and families being drawn into involvement with statutory child protection and/or youth justice systems and the reasons why exiting these systems can become incredibly difficult.
In this edition of eNews, we report on major events held during this week that draw attention to the reasons why we should all be concerned about the devastating impact of poverty and the housing crisis. However, these events also hold out to us the hope for changes and promote the opportunities available to us to make these changes happen.
