PeakCare is seeking a flexible full time Executive Director, Research and Advocacy

About Us:
PeakCare Queensland is a leading voice in the child, youth, and family sector, dedicated to driving systemic change through research, advocacy, and public awareness. We work closely with our members to ensure that children, young people, and their families are protected and supported in culturally informed and inclusive ways.

The Role:
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Executive Director – Research and Advocacy to lead our research and advocacy initiatives. In this pivotal role, you will drive efforts to create systemic changes within the child, youth, and family sector. You will manage key member relationships, ensure our advocacy is evidence-based, and develop strategies that integrate the complex interplay between child protection, housing, domestic and family violence, youth justice, mental health, education, and disability services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Member Engagement: Manage relationships with PeakCare’s members, ensuring their active engagement and satisfaction.
  • Policy Analysis and Submissions: Lead the analysis of sector-related policies, ensuring that submissions are evidence-based and reflect the priorities of our members.
  • Advocacy Initiatives: Develop and execute advocacy strategies that are intersectional and support the goals of the sector.
  • Research Leadership: Oversee research that informs advocacy and policy development.
  • Sector Education and Awareness: Lead sector awareness campaigns and educational initiatives that enhance understanding of key sector issues.

About You:
You are a strategic thinker with a strong background in policy analysis, advocacy, and research within the child, youth, and family sector. You are passionate about member engagement and have a proven track record of driving policy and legislative change. Your ability to build and maintain effective partnerships, along with your commitment to cultural inclusivity and intersectionality, will be key to your success in this role.
