On Thursday, 15th June, senior representatives of organisations providing residential care services met with PeakCare to engage in a preliminary exploration and identification of issues that may need to be factored into the implementation plan for the introduction of a minimum qualification for residential care workers announced by the Honourable Shannon Fentiman MP, Minister for Communities, Women and Youth, Minister for Child Safety and Minister for the Prevention of Domestic and Family Violence on 31st May. This meeting was also an opportunity to provide advice about some revamping of the project currently underway to develop training and professional development strategies to support implementation of the Hope and Healing framework arising out of this initiative.
Residential care providers who were unable to attend this meeting are advised that a teleconference will be held at 2pm on Friday, 23rd June. To register your interest in participating in this teleconference, please email lwegener@peakcare.org.au by COB Wednesday, 21st June.
