Along with PeakCare’s presentation about the information obtained from the ‘Residential Care COVID-19 Preparedness Assessment Tool’ and how this information is being used at the meeting of the Non-Family Based Care Strategic implementation Group (SIG) held on 8th February 2022, attendees were also able to engage in dialogue with guest presenters from the Community Services Industry Alliance (CSIA) and The Services Union about the updated Individual Flexibility Agreement (IFA) and with representatives of the Department of Children, Youth Justice and Multicultural Affairs (DCYJMA) and Queensland Health about a new version of the ‘COVID-19 prevention and management in residential non-family based care services Guidelines’ and some accompanying new resources including the COVID-19 Response plan for residential non-family based care services and COVID-19 QRG: Resources for residential non-family based care services. These are, of course, all matters of critical importance to Queensland’s residential care sector.
If you are involved in delivering residential care services, make sure that your organisation is always well represented at meetings of the Non-Family Based Care SIG. The same message applies to organisations that form the membership of the Family-Based Care SIG.
