CREATE Foundation’s #snapthatstigma campaign, which aims to change preconceived views toward young people with care experiences, is being launched as part of National Youth Week (31st March to 9th April). Over 9,000 children and young people around the nation are currently living in out-of-home care, including foster care, kinship care, residential care and youth detention. These young people exhibit courage and hope in the face of the adversity and stigma they face. CREATE’s #snapthatstigma video features eight young people sharing their experiences and perspectives on the issue of stigma during their time in care, showing that they are much more than simply their care experiences. More inspiring young people feature in #snapthatstigma stories, including Carlatina, Mariah, and Shannieka. For a full list of events for National Youth Week around the country, visit the website.
