A new resource to help people experiencing mental health issues to self-advocate for what they need under the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) has been produced by the Victorian Mental Illness Awareness Council and Tandem Carers. The toolkit for self advocacy for the NDIS contains the basics of self-advocacy including identifying rights and strategies for the individual, a practical model of self-advocacy, an overview of the NDIS and how to enroll, how to appeal decisions, and the basics of case planning.
