Sortli (short for ‘sort out your life’) is a free mobile app for young people full of useful information and tools to support the transition to adulthood. The app is focused on eight key areas: identity, relationships, finding a place to live, health, finances, education and employment, legal matters and general living skills. Young people can use Sortli independently or assisted by carers or support workers as part of their transition planning. The app can be downloaded from the App Store for iOS, Google Play for Android, or Windows.
CREATE’s Go Your Own Way (GYOW) kits have been updated with new information. These kits help prepare young people for their transition to independence by providing important information on topics such as applying for a passport, financial advice and housing support.
CREATE also has practitioner resources for professionals who support young people transitioning from care, including specific resources for Queensland.
