Reminder – free human rights legislation training

In the coming weeks, the Department of Child Safety, Youth and Women, the Queensland Human Rights Commission (QHRC) and QCOSS will be holding free human rights information sessions in ten locations across Queensland. The sessions will provide an introduction to the Human Rights Act, which commences from 1st January 2020, and the functions of the QHRC; present non-government organisations with practical resources and tools to build their confidence in effectively meeting our human rights obligations, including the management of human rights complaints processes; and facilitate connections with others in the human services sector about human rights issues and implications. Click here to view dates and locations and to access registration. Attendance at each session will be limited to one or two representatives from each organisation to ensure that they are as interactive as possible. Make sure your organisation is represented and you give thought to the most suitable persons to relay the information they receive back into your organisation.
