The Queensland government has released a draft plan, Action on Ice, for community input. The plan outlines the activities that Queensland government agencies are undertaking to address the harms caused by ice use. The draft has been informed by responses to the September 2015 discussion paper Ways to Combat Ice Addiction in Queensland and the findings in the final report of the National Ice Taskforce. The plan seeks to: reduce supply through law enforcement, reduce demand through prevention and early intervention especially for targeted high risk groups such as young males, and minimise harm through treatment, services and specialised programs. Written submissions in response to the draft plan close Friday, 19 May. For more information or to lodge a response, email combat-ice@premiers.qld.gov.au.
