Raise the Rate – have your say

Newstart is not working – $40 per day is too low to give people the support required to get through tough times and into paid work. That’s the message, supported by PeakCare, of the Raise the Rate campaign headed by ACOSS. The goal of the campaign is for the Federal Government to lift the single rate of Newstart, Youth Allowance and other related payments by at least $75 per week, and index Allowances to wages. PeakCare encourages Member organisations and Supporters to support clients on Allowances to share their personal stories about how they survive on Newstart, Youth Allowance and other related payments.
