The Home Stretch campaign is undertaking a survey on the views of foster and kinship carers across Australia on extending out-of-home care to 21 years of age. The success of this survey depends on it getting to as many responses as possible, and as those who care for young people, the views of foster and kinship carers are of paramount importance. Of the survey respondents so far, only 8% live in Queensland. PeakCare encourages all providers of foster and kinship care services in Queensland to support carers in taking a few minutes to complete the survey online before 31st July in order to provide valuable insight on extending care. Carers can go into the draw for one of three $100 vouchers on completion of the survey. The Home Stretch campaign is aimed at informing Australian policy development, program implementation and evaluation to extend care to 21 years of age. The survey findings will be presented at the Home Stretch Symposium at the Intercontinental Sydney on Tuesday, 27th to Wednesday, 28th August.
