PeakCare’s best wishes for North Queensland

PeakCare’s sincere best wishes are extended to all our members, colleagues and friends in North Queensland. We understand that many of you are now in the position of having to cope with your own experiences of the devastation that the flooding rains have brought to you and your communities while also attending to the needs of the children, young people and families who are receiving your organisations’ services. Our thoughts are with you as you face this challenge.

Our best wishes and commendation are also sent to all those involved in the disaster recovery work. The pictures and images we see depicted in the media of the recovery efforts both sadden us as we contemplate what you have endured, but also inspire us with a sense of admiration and hope for your recovery.

North Queensland residents are able to access additional financial assistance and support services through Commonwealth-Queensland Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements (DRFA). DRFA assistance is now available in 16 local council areas in northern Queensland: Burdekin, Cairns, Charters Towers, Cloncurry, Cook, Croydon, Douglas, Etheridge, Hinchinbrook, Hope Vale, McKinlay, Palm Island, Richmond, Townsville, Whitsunday and Wujal Wujal. For more details and to apply, visit the Queensland Government’s Disaster Management website.
