Gavin Deeprose
Gavin joins the PeakCare QLD team with two decades of experience in program leadership, public policy implementation and strategy development.
Prior to joining the team, Gavin was most recently a Consulting Director and the Practice Lead for Strategy and Public Policy at management consultancy GWI. He specialises in complex program establishment, design, and evaluation and has a demonstrated track record working with clients across a range of sectors including technology, telecommunications, resources, health, non-profit (NFP), and at all levels of government.
In addition, Gavin brings to PeakCare board and governance experience that includes a period of service as a Non-Executive Director at API Leisure & Lifestyle Queensland, one of Australia’s oldest not-for-profit membership organisations. Beyond traditional board responsibilities, Gavin also assited API as the Chairperson of its inaugural Property Sub-Committee; responsible for overseeing the performance and governance of a substantial portfolio of holiday homes, commercial buildings and childcare businesses.
Gavin also assisted the Board in completing a constitutional and strategic review ahead of the organisation’s 100th anniversary, and played a key role in monitoring business performance and risk on the Board’s Emergency (Covid-19) Standing Committee.
A former Ministerial and Lord Mayoral advisor, Gavin has contributed to major civic strategies and events, including preparatory work for Brisbane’s successful City Deal bid, the international award-winning Brisbane 2022 New World City Action Plan, and host functions associated to Brisbane’s hosting of the 2012 G20 and 2015 Asia Pacific City Summit.
Gavin is a member of the Golden Key Honours Society, holds a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Queensland, and a Graduate Diploma in Law from QUT. He is admitted to practice as a Solicitor by the Supreme Court of Queensland, is a licenced OGC Gateway Reviewer and a certified Prince2 & Agile trainer.
As Executive Director of Catalyst for Care, Gavin will lead efforts to develop a residential care workforce strategy, expand and modernise the highly successful Hope & Healing training package, and establish a sector-led event to celebrate the successes of Queensland’s dedicated residential care workforce.
