Open letter on youth justice published in the Courier Mail on Saturday, 28 January 2023

PeakCare Members, Supporters and media contacts may already be aware of the full-page open letter to the Queensland Parliament published in the Courier Mail on Saturday, 28th January.

The letter contains the logos of over 40 organisations plus the names of 20 individuals who are, in effect, the signatories to the letter. Seeing all of those logos and names on the one page is an impressive sight and provides a powerful message.

As a follow-up to the open letter appearing in the Courier Mail tomorrow, PeakCare and the Youth Advocacy Centre will be hosting a morning tea/ media conference at 11.30am on Wednesday, 1st February 2023 at the Hilton, 190 Elizabeth St, Brisbane.

You and other representatives from your organisations are cordially invited to attend. We will also attempt to arrange a ‘media gauntlet’ allowing anyone who wishes to be interviewed to ‘join the queue’.

If you are able to attend, it would be appreciated if you could RSVP to PeakCare’s Lindsay Wegener at lwegener@peakcare.org.au by 10am on Tuesday,  31st January 2023.

Thank you once again to those who have contributed to the letter – an incredible collective effort!
