ATAGI has expanded its recommendations on the first booster dose in adolescents aged 12-15 years, recommending that a first booster dose of the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine may be given to those in the following categories who have completed a primary course of vaccination 3 or more months ago: those who are severely immunocompromised; those who have a disability with significant or complex health needs; those who have complex and/or multiple health conditions that increase the risk of severe COVID-19. The full recommendation can be found here.

In the meantime, the vaccination rates of Queensland children and young people continue to alarmingly lag well below the vaccination rates for the general population. Distribute this double-sided flyer throughout your organisations and do whatever you can do to protect Queensland children and young people from serious illness – both from COVID and the flu.
