The Good practice in delivering and evaluating interventions for young people with sexually abusive behaviours project acknowledges many adolescents who engage in sexually abusive behaviours have histories that include exposure to childhood trauma, such as family and domestic violence, disrupted attachments, and long-term neglect. The key aim of the project is to foster a shared understanding about the characteristics of effective approaches in responding to adolescents with sexually abusive behaviours in a range of settings to inform service design and implementation across Australia. The project is currently recruiting key service providers and practitioners about effective therapeutic responses for young people with sexually abusive behaviours to participate.
