ANROWS has released Australia-first research into perpetrator interventions, providing an evidence base for intervening with fathers who use domestic and family violence (DFV), in order to provide more effective and safe support for women and children experiencing DFV. The project was informed by the Safe & Together Model, with findings structured around four themes: key skills identified for working with fathers who use violence and control; key factors identified in partnering with women; key skills in ensuring a focus on children and young people; and the role of organisations and practitioner capacity building. The Practice Guide developed from the findings offers new insights for practitioners into what works and the role of organisations in facilitating more responsive and effective practice with fathers who use violence.
