Dr Pooja Sawrikar, Senior Lecturer School of Human Services and Social Work,Griffith University, specialises in the nexus of culture and child protection, with a current research project seeking to understand the needs of people from Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) communities when they seek help for child sexual abuse. A new online professional development course has been developed to support culturally sensitive service delivery for counselors, social workers, psychologists, GPs, psychiatrists, interpreters, researchers, program trainers, and policy developers working in sexual assault, child protection, and/or multicultural affairs.
