The Queensland government has released a new online form for those suffering domestic violence to access and apply for a protection order. The form can be accessed on any device and once completed can be printed and lodged at court, streamlining the process of applying for a protection order. It contains easier to understand language and definitions of legal terms, as well as details on support services. A large, quick exit button to the ABC website or Facebook also allows users to quickly and discreetly leave the site, without the form appearing in their browsing history. The form can still take over an hour to complete depending on the user’s details and must be notarized by a Justice of the Peace or lawyer. Access the form and read more here.
