QCOSS has developed a valuable resource for anyone undertaking or being part of place-based approaches. Place-based approaches provide communities with the flexibility to make decisions that are in the best interests of the people living there. The QCOSS guide and toolkit represents a significant body of work based on the experiences of many people and groups who have been involved in and contributed to the most up-to-date learnings about the value of place-based approaches. The guide is for anyone looking to work in a way that: focusses on the local level, creates a shared, long-term vision and commitment to outcomes, involves working differently together across the community, creates governance at a local level, embeds broad engagement with the community, and gives an opportunity to experiment, prototype, and learn through doing.
