Communities experiencing issues such as high rates of unemployment, areas of high population growth, social disadvantage, high levels of alcohol and other drug harms are able to apply for funding to assist in local primary prevention work. The National Local Drug Action Team (LDAT) program has been developed to address issues regarding alcohol and other drugs by implementing community-driven, evidence informed approaches that strengthen protective factors against alcohol and drug misuse. Communities will need to form groups with cross-sector representatives to apply to become an LDAT. Successful LDATs can apply for grant funding of between $21,000 and $40,000 once they have developed a Community Action Plan. View more information and find out how to apply on the LDAT website.
