New COVID restrictions for South East Queensland

The Chief Health Officer has issued a new directive for areas of South East Queensland, in response to a recent increase in COVID-19 cases. One of the cases that has been confirmed has been linked to a disability service. The directions support people with disability continuing to get their essential disability services. From 8am on 22nd August, increased restrictions have been put in place for residents of: City of Brisbane, City of Ipswich, Logan City, Scenic Rim Region, Somerset Region, Lockyer Valley Region, Moreton Bay Region, Redland City. The restrictions affect disability accommodation facilities, including how many visitors are allowed. Hospital emergency departments and disability accommodation facilities will also use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) including face masks and gloves to treat all patients and residents. Read the latest update, and view the information outlined on the NDIS website to see how this affects disability service providers, residents and carers.
