On Tuesday, 21 February, PeakCare Queensland and the Queensland Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Child Protection Peak (QATSICPP) are running a one-day workshop about what OCFOS, DCPL and child protection court reforms mean for you and your work with children, young people, parents, family members and carers. It’s being held at Riverside Receptions, New Farm. The reforms commenced on 1st July 2016 and are intended to improve court processes and support children and parents to have a greater opportunity to present their views in court and to access legal representation. The workshop is targeted to managers, team leaders, Recognised Entity workers or other practitioners working with or supporting clients in court matters, preparing affidavits, appearing as an expert witness, or creating records that could be subpoenaed.
