The Commonwealth, in consultation with governments and people with disability, their carers and providers, has developed a Code of Conduct for the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS). The code aims to ensure NDIS participants can access high quality and safe supports. The Code is part of the NDIS Quality and Safeguarding Framework released in February 2017. Once finalised, the Code will be overseen by the new NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission announced in Commonwealth Budget.
People with disability, their families and carers, providers and workers, can provide comments and feedback on the draft Code by visiting the DSS engage site. Access the Discussion Paper to complete the survey or make a submission. Consultation closes on Wednesday, 21st June 2017.
