Managing child safety information follow up report released

The Queensland Audit Office has tabled the performance audit report Follow-up of Managing child safety information. In this follow-up audit, the Audit Office assessed whether the Department of Child Safety, Youth and Women (the Department) has effectively implemented the recommendations made in Managing child safety information to improve information sharing and security. The Audit Office also assessed whether the actions taken have addressed the underlying issues that led to our recommendations in that report. The audit report concludes that the Department has not effectively implemented all of the recommendations made by the Audit Office in the original report. The audit report also states the Department has taken steps to implement the recommendations and to address some of the underlying issues, and have made progress in improving access to information but not in a holistic manner and security is still an area needing further work.
