The latest issue of Family Matters published by the Australian Institute of Family Studies (AIFS) considers the issues involved in determining ‘what works’ in service delivery for families. What constitutes ‘evidence’ and ‘effectiveness’ in the immediate and long term, and how evidence can best be collected, are all issues which are deeply contested. In addition to articles from researchers and experts, the edition contains a series of ‘practitioner perspectives’ on the use of evidence, and departmental updates on significant child and families programs.
