Child abuse can be prevented if we all play our part. Why then is there still so little talk about the things we can do to create communities that support families and children (before problems arise)? Why is the topic of primary prevention still largely missing from conversations about child abuse and neglect? And, when prevention is mentioned, why is it still so often confused with early intervention? On Tuesday, 4th September, during National Child Protection Week, NAPCAN invites you to join the conversation about prevention in a lively and inspiring Q&A Forum about why primary prevention needs to be front and centre when we talk about child abuse and neglect. Katrina Blowers from Channel 7 will MC, with speakers including Indigenous lawyer and advocate Norman Laing, National Children’s Commissioner Megan Mitchell, representatives from R4Respect, and Michael Hogan, Director-General, Department of Child Safety, Youth and Women.
