Increased decision-making autonomy for carers

The Department of Child Safety, Youth and Women has reviewed what decisions carers can make when caring for a child who is subject to an order granting guardianship to the chief executive. Carers can now make decisions about: day excursions, sporting and recreational pursuits and school camps involving high and very high risk activities; interstate air travel up to three nights; and blood tests required for medical purposes. Read more.

    The ReNew program sounds wonderful. Just wondering if there has been any shift with regards to also working with girls as I have a family in desperate need.

    Thank you for your comment – it certainly is a fantastic program.

    PeakCare recommends reaching out to DVAC and Carinity to find out if there has been any expansion of the program’s scope, or if there are similar services being offered which focus on working with girls and young women based on the ReNew model.
