A very important announcement from TAFE Queensland

The attention of all providers of residential care services is drawn to a VERY IMPORTANT announcement released by TAFE Queensland today. To support your organisation and staff in meeting the new minimum qualifications standards for residential care workers, TAFE Queensland is offering programs to complete a Certificate IV in Child, Youth and Family Intervention (Residential and Out of Home Care) at a cost of only $100 for eligible workers. This low cost has been made possible by the program being subsidised though the Queensland Government’s Regional Skills Adjustment Strategy. Click here for details about:

  • the eligibility criteria
  • how TAFE will work with eligible workers and their organisations to develop individual training plans and deliver the training through face-to-face workshops and on-line webinars
  • information sessions to be held at the Sunshine Coast and North Brisbane (12th March); Townsville, Kingaroy and Mt Isa via teleconference (13th March); Toowoomba, Cairns and Ipswich (14th March); Rockhampton (18th March); Logan City and Mackay (19th March); Gold Coast (20th March) and Hervey Bay (21st March), and
  • how to complete an online application.

After reading about the program, residential care workers should view the information session schedule and complete an application form.

Workers who are not eligible to access the subsidised training may still undertake training in the Certificate IV in Child, Youth and Family Intervention (Residential and Out of Home Care) at another TAFE Queensland location.

Residential care providers who would like further information can contact the Residential Care MQS Program inbox EnquiriesCIV.CYFI@tafe.qld.edu and TAFE Queensland will work with your organisation to develop a training strategy to suit your workforce availability and needs. General enquires can also be made online via the “Enquire Now” button on the webpage or via the Residential Care MQS inbox EnquiriesCIV.CYFI@tafe.qld.edu.
