Hope & Healing update

The training program for the Hope & Healing Framework for Residential Care is progressing well, with all organisations that provide residential care now entered onto the e-learning platform. Staff are working through the modules, 5 of the 10 of which are now available. Modules are being released progressively with adequate time for completion. There are currently over 3,500 people from 39 organisations enrolled on the platform. This includes full time, part time, casual and agency staff, all of whom are required to complete the training. Feedback has been that the modules are engaging and fun to complete in this format. Work is also well progressed to provide a PowerPoint presentation format to complement the e-learning for circumstances when group learning is preferred, or internet access is limited. Enquiries regarding the Hope & Healing Framework can be directed to Lesley Leece, Assistant Director, PeakCare at lleece@peakcare.org.au, 07 3368 1050.

The minimum qualification of a Certificate IV in a relevant field of study is also a requirement of residential care workers. Please refer to the information sheet provided by the Department of Child Safety, Youth and Women here.
