DESCRIPTION:As AI becomes more embedded in service delivery\, poorly designed or governed systems can unintentionally cause harm or retraumatisation. DESCRIPTION:The Commission will hold public hearings in Toowoomba: \n\nWeek 1: Monday 16 to Friday 20 February\nWeek 2: Monday 23 to Friday 27 February\n\nThese hearings will explore the link between the child safety system and the youth justice system\, and how the state acts as ‘corporate parent’\, particularly for those children in both systems. \nFind out more and watch the livestream when in session \nIf you have not already done so\, PeakCare strongly encourages you to consider making a submission to the Inquiry. There remains an opportunity to contribute your perspectives on matters relevant to the Terms of Reference. \nPeakCare continues to work closely with the Commission and will keep the sector informed of any forthcoming closing dates for submissions. \nPeakCare is also liaising with the Commission of Inquiry regarding potential coordinated sector-wide consultation with the Commissioner in the coming weeks. We will provide further information as soon as details are confirmed. \nPeakCare will attend the hearings in Toowoomba over the next fortnight. \nThe Commission will now deliver its final report to Government by 22 May 2026.

DESCRIPTION:Parentshop presents Engaging Adolescents™ for Child and Family Specialists \nThis workshop provides easy-to-use techniques to enlist adolescents to manage their own teenager behaviour problems and emotional reactions. You will learn how to build a relationship with a teenager\, help parents to build a relationship with their teenager\, and strategies to deal with unacceptable behaviour. \nParticipants will walk away with a renewed sense of confidence about the role they can play in their teenagers’ lives and how they can assist parents to manage teenagers without conversations morphing into arguments. \nThe professional training includes role-play\, group discussion\, worksheets\, and videos. This one-day course equips professionals with skills to use in their work with teenagers and their parents as well as the knowledge to teach parents the program over three sessions and/or how to teach the tenets of the program in a few one-to-one clinical sessions should you wish to certify to become an Engaging Adolescents™ parent educator. \nTo become a certified parent educator\, you’ll be provided with additional resources needed in order to present to parents. This ensures that our product is only being taught at the highest quality. There are several benefits in becoming certified: Certification is renewed each year at $69 for your first year and $49 thereafter. To remain certified\, parent educators are required to complete a refresher every five years. SUMMARY:Emerging Minds - Towards a comprehensive child mental health system: Gaps and strengths in workforce competency
DESCRIPTION:Most health\, social and community services workforces currently support child mental health at work. Research conducted by Emerging Minds shows that even service workers whose job descriptions do not include support of child mental health are regularly engaged in this work. While this research shows that competency is moderate to low across a range of child mental health domains\, engagement in workforce development can make a significant difference. Improving outcomes for children and their families means enabling workforces\, organisations and systems to deliver quality support across the mental health continuum. \nIn this webinar\, Emerging Minds team members will discuss findings from the second National Workforce Survey for Child\, Parent and Family Mental Health. These findings provide a snapshot of child mental health competence across a broad range of health\, social and community services workers in Australia. \nDuring the webinar\, you will gain insights into areas of practice strength and areas that require further development\, including differences related to location\, occupation and degree of workplace support for child mental health practice.
