DESCRIPTION:The language we use with clients has the power to support\, heal and empower. But words can also harm and dehumanise individuals. Although this is rarely intentional\, research consistently suggests that recipients of health and social support services often feel disempowered\, disrespected and excluded. \nThere are increasing calls from disabled people and advocates to challenge and change practice norms and assumptions\, promote genuine inclusivity and address the inequalities experienced by disabled people. DESCRIPTION:Most health\, social and community services workforces currently support child mental health at work. Research conducted by Emerging Minds shows that even service workers whose job descriptions do not include support of child mental health are regularly engaged in this work. While this research shows that competency is moderate to low across a range of child mental health domains\, engagement in workforce development can make a significant difference. Improving outcomes for children and their families means enabling workforces\, organisations and systems to deliver quality support across the mental health continuum. \nIn this webinar\, Emerging Minds team members will discuss findings from the second National Workforce Survey for Child\, Parent and Family Mental Health.
