SUMMARY:Change for Youth - Annual Gala Luncheon 2026
DESCRIPTION:Right now in Queensland\, more than 12\,000 children live in out-of-home care. Too many carry the weight of trauma\, disrupted education\, and a system that struggles to meet their needs. The consequences are profound – disengagement from school\, social isolation\, and\, all too often\, contact with the youth justice system. \nChange for Youth believe children who’ve experienced hardship deserve more than hope – they deserve action. That’s why our Empower Youth Program delivers one-on-one\, trauma-informed learning and wellbeing support\, and why we work closely with schools\, systems\, and carers to advocate for lasting change. The results are powerful: when a child reconnects with learning\, they begin to see possibility in themselves and in their future. These are not small wins – they are life-changing. \nIn March\, Change for Youth will host the inaugural Bloom Gala Luncheon at The Calile Hotel. More than a celebration\, it is about planting seeds of opportunity – fuelling lasting change for children and communities. With every partnership and every pledge\, together\, we grow futures. \nYour support helps young people flourish by: \n\nKeeping more young people engaged in school and family-based placements\nAdvocating for trauma-aware systems that better meet their needs\nRedirecting futures away from crisis and toward opportunity\n\nTogether\, we can create a community where every child is safe\, supported\, and set up to shine. \nGRAND BALLROOM\, THE CALILE HOTEL\n48 James Street\, Fortitude Valley\, Qld 4006 \n20TH MARCH 2026\n11.30 am to 4.00 pm \nFind out more and register

SUMMARY:The Hatchery & NAPCAN - Safeguarding Children & Young People
DESCRIPTION:This two-day conference brings together those working closest to children and young people to reflect honestly on where systems are falling short and what practical steps are needed to create safer environments across every setting. The focus is on real progress that strengthens trust\, consistency\, and responsibility in everyday practice. Hear directly from young people\, advocates\, and sector leaders as they share what meaningful involvement looks like when children and young people are supported to speak\, contribute\, and be heard. Through lived experience\, co-design\, and guided discussions\, you’ll see how participation can shape more responsive and supportive services. Gain practical guidance to help staff respond with care when a child or young person discloses harm or feels unsafe. Sessions explore the emotional\, relational\, and systemic challenges that can prevent disclosures from being recognised or acted on\, offering clear steps towards safer\, more confident responses. \nFind out more and register

SUMMARY:Parentshop - Engaging Adolescents
DESCRIPTION:Engaging Adolescents™ is a structured professional learning program that equips practitioners with evidence-informed strategies to support adolescents in the regulation of behaviour and emotional responses. The program focuses on strengthening relational engagement with adolescents\, enhancing parental–adolescent relationships\, and implementing effective approaches to address challenging and unacceptable behaviour. \nParticipants develop a clear understanding of their professional role in supporting adolescents and families\, with an emphasis on fostering constructive communication and reducing the escalation of conflict.
