PeakCare and QFCC – Foster Care Agency Forum

An online forum for Queensland foster care agencies on experiences recruiting carers

PeakCare Queensland and Queensland Child and Family Commission (QFCC) present the Foster Care Agency Forum – Preserving a vital system

PeakCare, in partnership with the Queensland Family and Child Commission (QFCC) is undertaking a project to better understand the demographic changes impacting the availability and capacity of foster care in Queensland.

To support this work, we want to hear directly from family-based care service providers on your experience relating to the recruitment, retention and support of foster carers.

The forum will include an overview of the Foster Care Demographics Project, early insights from Queensland’s demographics analysis, and an overview of how these trends compare to other Australian jurisdictions.

It will also include an interactive workshop with attendees to better understand what these changes and trends look like on the ground, what impact are they having for agencies, what key drivers are agencies seeing, and what ideas and approaches can help address these challenges.

PeakCare and QFCC are committed to driving this essential foster care initiative in partnership with the child and family sector.

We look forward to seeing you, or another suitable representative from your organisation at the forum. Please register at the link below before COB Thursday 4 April 2024.
