Listen, Connect, Reflect Conference 2023

Listen, Connect, Reflect Conference 2023

The Listen, Connect, Reflect conference is an opportunity to dive into the National Framework to End Violence Against Women and Children, raise the voices of lived experiences and strengthen collaboration with the vision to end violence against women and girls in Queensland communities.

As Queenslanders who are committed to ending violence against women and girls, we have the unique opportunity to ensure our efforts create a lasting change.

On a National level, the National Plan to End Violence Against Women and Children in one generation is the overarching policy framework that will guide actions towards ending violence against women and children over the next 10 years.

In Queensland, the Women’s Safety and Justice Taskforce led by former President of the Queensland Court of Appeal, the Honourable Justice Margaret McMurdo AC, has set out an ambitious reform agenda. The reform, endorsed by Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk, invites us all to be part of creating change for women through the justice system and an integrated approach to meeting their needs in seeking safety and protection.

On the organising committee are Micah Projects- Brisbane Domestic Violence Service, DVConnect, Immigrant Women’s Support Services, Multicultural Australia, Queensland Indigenous Family Violence Legal Service, Women’s Health and Equality Queensland and Women’s Legal Service Queensland.

The conference program is now available, and registration is open with accessibility options available. A pre-conference forum will be held on Thursday to gain further insight into DFV services working in the sector throughout the Brisbane area.
