This year QCPW offers an opportune time to reflect by asking how services can enhance outcomes for children and families. This year’s theme – every child, in every community, needs a fair go – seeks to draw together all sectors and professionals to collectively build stronger community foundations – from affordable housing, to outdoor spaces, schools, child care, health services, social supports and more. Children’s social and emotional wellbeing, and mental health, cannot be separated from the broader context of their lives – it is shaped and influenced by a range of social and environmental factors. Through research we are increasing our understanding of what children and families need to thrive. Emerging Minds evidence-informed e-learning and resources can help professionals and organisations take a holistic view of children’s social and emotional wellbeing. The resources develop practitioner’s knowledge and skills to support them in their work with children, parents and families.
