The Department of Communities, Child Safety and Disability Services (DCCSDS) will be releasing a series of training materials for non-government organisations. The first of these resources relate to the the Strengthening Families Protecting Children Framework for Practice.
Tools include:
- Practice tip sheets to support the application of the collaborative assessment and planning framework for risk assessment
- Three Houses – a process to involve children, young people and their families in assessment and planning
- Safety House – a process for engaging children and young people in safety planning
- Circles of Safety and Support – a process to help parents identify people for their family’s safety and support network
- Future House – a process to support parents and caregivers to identify their vision and goals for children’s future safety, belonging and wellbeing
- Family Roadmap – a process to elicit the views of family members for detailed planning
- Immediate Story – a process to help children understand child protection interventions
- Six practice maps that offer a visual representation of the phases and tasks of child protection intervention.
